Hon Wilson Kajwengye Twinomugisha is a seasoned legal professional and public servant whose career spans over two decades across national and international institutions. His experience in law, diplomacy, and security has equipped him with a broad perspective on governance and development.

His educational journey reflects a strong commitment to academic excellence and professional growth. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.

He further advanced his expertise in governance and security by earning both a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and a Master of Management in Security from the University of the Witwatersrand. This diverse academic background has significantly shaped his approach to leadership and public service.

Professional Career

His professional journey began in legal practice, where he gained foundational experience in Uganda’s legal system. He later transitioned into public service, serving in the Office of the President where he was involved in protocol and security matters.

His work with the Uganda Amnesty Commission in the Democratic Republic of Congo exposed him to peace-building and post-conflict recovery efforts. He also served as a Consular Officer in South Africa, representing Uganda’s interests and supporting citizens abroad.

At the regional level, he served as Director of Peace and Security at the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, where he contributed to initiatives aimed at promoting stability and cooperation across member states.

Parliamentary Work

Since his election to Parliament in 2021, he has actively participated in legislative processes and national oversight. As Chairperson of the Defense and Internal Affairs Committee, he plays a key role in addressing issues related to national security, governance, and institutional effectiveness.
